Marijuana Topicals – How to Make a Salve

DIRECTIONS

  1. Decarboxylate your cannabis. (see recipe linked here)
  2. While your cannabis is decarboxylating, pour the 2 cups of coconut oil into a saucepan.
  3. Once your cannabis is ready, begin adding it to the coconut oil in the saucepan, slowly mix it together on low heat.
  4. After mixing for 20 minutes, remove the mixture from the saucepan. Place the cheesecloth over the jar and pour the cannabis and oil mixture and set to the side.
  5. Now, add the beeswax in your saucepan. Once fully melted, add your cannabis and oil mixture. Begin mixing gently with a spatula.
  6. Remove your saucepan from the heat and then add a few drops of essential oils (scent and brand of your choice).
  7. Stir well and then add into the mason jar. Let it sit at room temperature and harden.
  8. Enjoy feeling the amazing benefits of medical cannabis a topical!

Canna Powered Smoothie (RECIPE)

 

Canna Flour (RECIPE)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Remove all stems and seeds from the dried cannabis. Grind cannabis until it turns into a powder. You can use a coffee grinder for the best results.
  2. Sift the cannabis powder and flour together until it is mixed evenly. Store in a cool, dry place until you’re ready to use.
  3. For medicated recipes, use canna flour as you would regular flour.

Canna Milk (RECIPE)

Canna milk is a great ingredient to keep in your fridge! From adding it to your morning coffee and oatmeal or trying your hand at unique recipes, using canna milk is an easy way to incorporate your medicine into your routine without changing much. This canna milk recipe is one of our favorites for getting started since it’s so simple and takes less than 2 hours from start to finish.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Ounce Cannabis 
  • 4 Cups Whole Milk

Instructions

  • Decarboxylate your marijuana
  • Place in the oven on 240F for 40 minutes. Remove from the oven to cool.
  • Grind (or finely chop) your marijuana.
  • Place 4 cups of whole milk in a small pot on low heat. Add cannabis and let simmer on low heat for 60-90 minutes without it ever coming to a boil.
  • Strain it through a cheesecloth and allow it to cool.
  • Use it in your morning coffee, oatmeal or try making some great recipes, like canna ice cream!

Medicated Muffins (RECIPE)

One of the most discrete, and fun, ways to ingest your medical cannabis is through food! With all this extra time we are still at home, why not experiment with some cannabis-inspired baking? Here’s one of our favorite recipes for zucchini cannabis-infused muffins.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups grated zucchini
  • ½ cup melted cannabutter
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup brown or date sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pignolis (optional)

How to Make It

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F.

Step 2

In a bowl, mix together zucchini, melted homemade cannabutter, olive oil, and sugar. Once combined, mix in the eggs one at a time until just blended. Sift together all dry ingredients and mix into zucchini mixture. If you chose to add nuts, fold them in gently.

Step 3

Line your 12-count muffin tin with cupcake wrappers (get creative and make it fun!), and divide batter equally between each cup. Bake for approximately 20 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. The tops should spring back to the touch and appear slightly brown. Each muffin will have approximately 5-10 mg of THC, which is at or below the recommended beginner’s dosage. Remember, start slow. When ingesting/eating medical cannabis, it takes longer to feel. Be sure to go very slow if this is your first time baking edibles and eating them at home.

Medicated Gummy Bears (RECIPE)

THC gummies are one of the most popular edibles out there. Sometimes they are very hard to find, or can be very pricey. We have a solution for you! At home, DIY Medicated Gummies. These are berry flavor, but you can swap out flavorings for your favorites.

Cannabis Gummies

In a saucepan, combine the below ingredients over medium-low heat:

2/3 C raspberries, blackberries, strawberries or blueberries (pureed) *If you are using frozen berries, let them thaw before you start making your gummies. If you prefer different flavors and have juice, make sure you increase the Gelatin by 1/2 Tablespoon.

1/3 C of Water

1 Tbsp Lemon Juice

2 Tbsp Honey (Feel free to use the sweetener of your choice)

Add:

2-3 t cannabis tincture

Slowly whisk in:

3 Tbsp Gelatin

Keep whisking until the mixture is smooth and all ingredients are blended. Turn off the heat. Using a dropper, fill your mold with the mixture. Feel free to play around with shapes! Then, allow the gummies to cool for about 5 minutes in the freezer or about 15 minutes in the fridge.
